Summary
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced event planner to lead and execute a variety of initiatives for downtown Bellefontaine. This role demands a candidate with exceptional customer service, interpersonal, and leadership skills, coupled with a strong background in event planning and execution. The Downtown Event Coordinator will be the primary point of contact for all events, marketing, and fundraising for downtown Bellefontaine. It is a unique and exciting role blending small business relationship building, event planning, and marketing. The position will be a full-time Chamber employee reporting to the Chamber President. The position is funded by an agreement between the Chamber and the 501c3 Downtown Bellefontaine Partnership (DBP) and as such the DBP Board will also provide direction and advising regarding the position. The primary functions include:
· Planning, marketing, and facilitating downtown events each month that draw visitors to our downtown businesses
· Fundraising that enables downtown events/marketing
· Building trusted relationships with downtown businesses and stakeholders through regular and proactive two-way communication

Experience/Certification Required:
Qualifications/Desired Traits
· Proven experience in event planning and execution
· Utilize strong sales experience to promote downtown events and initiatives.
· Social Media marketing experience is a must
· Highly proficient and professional in both written and verbal communication
· Highly proficient in proactive relationship building/maintenance, interpersonal skills, and customer service
· Self-motivated and able to thrive in an environment without detailed direction. This is not a hand-hold type position. General direction will be provided by DBP Executive Board and Chamber President but detailed execution will be self-driven
· Ability to multitask, prioritize, and maintain attention to detail
· Must be organized and able to think/plan for events months in advance
· Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines
· Ability to collaborate and navigate working with a diverse group of stakeholders, including the ability to handle criticism/feedback with grace. Overall a consensus builder and unifier
· Familiarity with Downtown Bellefontaine
· Experience with Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, Canva, and Word Press

Salary/Benefits:
Salary: $40,000-$48,000 based on experience
Benefits: IRA Retirement dollar for dollar match up to 3% match, 9 paid holidays, 8 PTO days in first year
Schedule: Flexible to allow for meeting when businesses are available to execute evening events. Base is 8-5 M-F. Remote working options are available up to 2-days per week.
