Logan County Engineer's Office (Highway Department)
The Logan County Engineer’s Office is responsible for designing, maintaining, repairing, and constructing roads, bridges, and petition ditches on the County Highway System. We maintain 368.124 miles of roadway, 7,276 signs, 296 bridges, 1,854 culverts, 46 county petition ditches, 38.00 miles of open ditches, 15.57 miles of tile, and 7.4 miles of waterway and provide engineering assistance to our county townships and villages. The Survey Department is responsible for surveying and establishing the right-of-ways and other survey-related matters. We also maintain a fleet of trucks, heavy construction equipment, county tax maps, plat maps, county aerial photos, digital GIS maps, and many other types of maps and records.
The Highway Department provides the following services (not all-inclusive):
- Snow and ice removal
- Roadside mowing
- Crack sealing, chip sealing, paving, pothole patching, grading, and repairs
- Culvert nd tile replacements
- Roadway ditching
- Bridge repairs and replacements
- Tree and brush cutting
- Maintenance of drainage system
