Bridges Community Action Partnership
Bridges Community Action Partnership was established as a community action agency in 1965 as a result of the Economic Opportunity Act of 1964-part of President Johnson's war on poverty. There are community action agencies in all 88 counties in Ohio, and there are over 1,000 agencies across the nation.
Funding for our services and operations is derived from competitive federal, state, local and private grants. Bridges administers the Community Services Block Grant (CSBG) for our service area, which provides administrative and operational funding, client outreach, information and referral services, and emeregency services. Other funding sources include the Home Weatherization Assistance Program (HWAP), the Home Energy Assistance Program (HEAP), local United Ways, private foundations, utility companies, and donations.
